During Shockwave 2026, more than 2,200 groups formed a wave of prayer in support of the Persecuted Church in the Horn of Africa, focusing on Somalia, Eritrea, and Ethiopia. The initiative asked Brazilian Christian youths to create gatherings with friends and family, meeting from September 18 to 20 to intercede for believers in those countries.
Preparation materials included prayer cards, scripts, videos, and recipe ideas provided by the organization. These resources helped participants learn about cultural aspects and the challenges faced by Christians in the region, aiming to foster empathy, continuous prayer, and service among Brazilian youths.
Testimonies and prayer requests highlighted messages of faith, forgiveness, and resilience, with reports of spiritual impact and strengthened unity within the body of Christ, despite risks. Participation occurred in diverse spaces, from attendees' homes to outdoor settings, including recreational activities such as trails and picnics, all centered on prayer and support for persecuted Christians.
