Navid

ContextNavid, a successful Iranian businessman, always despised Christianity. A devout Muslim, he lived comfortably in Tehran, a metropolis of 12 million people, until 2002 when his company went bankrupt in just three days. He lost everything — home, possessions, and status — and ended up living on the streets, sleeping in his own car, which was also about to be repossessed by the bank.

The TrialFor six months, Navid lived in his car, parking in places like hospitals and airports to avoid the police. To survive, he started working as an informal taxi driver. One day, by chance, a passenger got into his car: a woman who had been adopted by his mother. For months, she spoke about Jesus, but Navid refused to listen. One night, he challenged her to prove God's existence, demanding a supernatural experience. She simply replied, 'I will pray.'

Faith and OutcomeThe following dawn, while sleeping in his car at the airport, Navid felt the vehicle shake. Opening his eyes, he saw Jesus sitting on the hood, looking at him. The vision lasted less than a second, but it was so vivid that Navid immediately called the woman, in tears. She said, 'I knew this would happen.' From that moment, his faith began. Today, Navid is a converted Christian but lives in fear of being arrested by Iranian authorities, who persecute former Muslims who convert.
